Anywho, I feel I owe you a funny story.

So this one time I was in Vernal visiting my friend Allison. Natalie came to visit too! 

I was just about to head home {3 hour drive} and was going to feed my car some lunch. Well, I locked my keys in my car. sigh. 

Let me count how many times in the one year I've had my car that I've done that. At least 5. It's ridiculous. 

Well, this time, my spare key was in Orem, and I had to get home to work. 

It was a trial. 

This kind of rough lookin guys tried to break in for me, No success. Made me feel safer knowing that it's hard to break into calvin. 

Then the other trial was that my cell phone decided it wanted to stop working 2 days previously. So I couldn't call anyone.

Allison was there, and her phone's battery was dead. So we used the gas station's phone to call her dad, who called her mom, who had to come rescue poor us. It was pitiful and heart wrenching and tramatic. 

Okay, so it wasn't that bad. more just embarrassing that I always lock my keys in the car at the most awkward possible situations. {2nd time at a gas station, mind you}

I also locked them in the car the morning betsy got married. I seriously almost cried because I almost missed her coming out of the temple.

Adventures of finals week round 6- silent dance party, howling, and illegal hot tubing.

Have you people heard of the Howl? Like the Halloween party here at USU? well, Apparently it's tradition to Howl on wednesday of finals week at 10pm at the library.
I've always wanted to go, but never have so Allison, betsy and Jake went with me and when we get there, there was a large silent dance party going on. Everyone had their ipods and headphones in and were dancing around the library, up and down the stairs, everywhere. It was so awesome! and then as soon as it hit 10pm sharp everyone just howled for 2 minutes straight. hahahahaha. Random tradition award. It was very entertaining though.


Funny random story. after we read about how the howling at the library came about, Jake read us the story of how the giant footprints came to be around campus. I wasn't really paying attention because it was semi-boring but then I heard this sentence, "They sequestered the Forestry Queen to a motel in Pocatello, Idaho." haha. I'm pretty sure that was the funniest sentence my little ears had ever heard. Poor forestry queen!

Well, we went to the library with our swimsuits underneath cause we were going to go hot tubing at an undisclosed location, but then that hot tub was ridiculously packed. so then after we located another one and it too was packed, we decided to be sneaky and go hot tubing at a motel hot tub..... hahahahaha. it was 10:30 and it said it closed at 10. But there were 2 old guys there so we joined. And they were form L.A. and really full of themselves. They made me laugh though. And were obsessed with making money. The one told us about he was an actor for 5 years on a tv show called silver spoons. Never heard of it. And how his 8 year old daughter was in a movie a few years ago. The other guy told us all about how he had started 15 businesses in the last 10 years but didn't like them so he went back to door to door sales. What a gem. Then he told me while i'm in Europe to go to the red light district in Amsterdam. Good one. Not happening.

I'm pretty sure they freaked Allison out, but it was slightly hilarious to see jake interact with them.

So that's my story.

4.5 days till Europe. wow.

Adventures of finals week round 5- sun tanning, duck feeding, and packing

I slept in today! first day in I don't even know how long! It was magnificent. I told myself that I would get up early to get some packing done, but I didn't.

But, I mailed off the CD of the wedding I did a few weekends ago. If you want to see the preview, go here. I am in love with the bountiful temple this spring. It was gorgeous!

Then i went to a park with Natalie and Allison and we had lunch and then took a nap in the sun. It was incredibly nice. And now I'm tan. ha! I wish. I'm still white.

We fed the ducks afterwards and then I came home and became productive.

and then I wanted to cry just a little. Because It's so so so sad to move! especially knowing I won't be living with my BFFFFFFF next year because she's getting wed. It's going to be a rough goodbye on saturday morning. :'(

Awkward post

Sometimes my life is full of awesomely awkward events.
So, I will share a couple with you.

#1- So, I was trying to find this office of this lady named Leah Kennedy in the UPRES building 203. So, naturally, since i didn't know where this building was, looked it up online. It said on usu.edu that it was on the second floor of the library. weird. but, whatever. So i'm wandering around aimlessly on the 2nd floor of the library trying to find 203. but, the lowest number i found was 204. sigh. so i finally decide to be a women and ask for directions. Well, apparently there's two UPRES buildings. and when i searched it, it only told me the rooms in the library for the university press. The building i needed was by the art building, where I just was at previously. Why on earth would a university have two buildings with the same name on the map??

#2- While walking around the library, I heard the following conversation-
{2 guys talking, we'll call them frederico and bobert}
frederico- "last week my sister was really constipated. Like the fecal matter was completely backed up."
bobert. ".......that's.....fun?"
frederico "You don't understand, it was so backed up it broke her tail bone!"
bobert. "wow, dude, you have a cool sister"

That story is NOT a lie. Okay, so the last phrase I made up because he just looked horrified. but other than that. that is TRUE! I'm not sure if they were trying to have an awkward conversation, or if that really was just a normal conversation for guys. It's a good thing that I'm a mature adult, otherwise I would have lost it. Which i definitely did not do. Definitely didn't laugh. at all.

#3- the going to the chem store to fill up the distilled water jugs for the photo lab from the art building to the ESLC. AKA-furthest buildings away from each other. direct opposite ends of campus. I believe we had 3- 5 gallon jugs. So my friend Bethany and I got the infamous red photo cart and proceeded down the hall. This cart has some serious problems. Not kidding. This cart is at the epitome of needing a huge can of WD40. maybe 4. and not just little squeaks. It was LOUD. So here we are, pushing this cart across campus with empty water jugs on it and we had to talk really loud to understand what each other were saying. so, we enter the ESLC and there are a reletively large amount of people there and a loud cart. So, we fill them up and then head back, hoping that the weight on the cart would make them a lot quieter. False. Instead of loud squeaks, it resembled the sound of farting. That was a fun walk back. So, if you were on campus and heard really loud squeaks and such, it was probably me. Well, not me, but the cart that was with me.

#4- Allison and Natalie at wal mart. They were so embarrassing. they sprayed boy cologne on each other. gross. axe is seriously the worst smell ever. Anyways, I can't be seen with those 2 anymore. haha

#5-  that I have 4 awkward events in ONE day. I must be talented at this.

Allison turned 19, so, here are 19 things about Allison-

6. she's obsessed with the type of movie that is the dumb/funny kind.

9. she owns like 3.2 million pairs of socks.
10. she doesn't like it when people cuddle under her quilt.
11. she's pretty stellar at blink. but i can beat her sometimes.
12. she brings kid toys to church
13. she goes to bed at normal hours
14. she likes my headbands and jewelry. so we switch
15. she's a far better friend than i am.
16. she has awesome bed head after waking up.
17. she has great stories
18. she writes like 10 missionaries
19. she has a really cute smile and face.

I omitted the one of betsy and I because it was
a rough day for me. I don't think there's ever been
a worse picture taken of me. And betsy was

Laurenita turned 20, so, here's 20 things about her-

1. She follows the spirit like none other.
2. we get into trouble in art history for even pretending to whisper. our professor= devil woman. 
3. she has Bay Watch legs and a cute bum.
4. she has a few catch phrases that we use in every day talking such as "sweaty mamas", "bum in a drum", and "llama lard"

6. we're west USA travelers together.
7. she loves to serve people.
8. her sisters are obsessed with her.
9. She loves her dog lucky, and will cry when you talk about her too long.
10. She doesn't really like to tell anyone about her crush's unless you force it out of her.
11. our eyes are like identical in color. But only in pictures.
12. She helps put your trials in correct perspective.
13. her leg hairs collect lint. haha. sorry, i had to put this in here.
14. she started creeper week. {3rd annual is next week. be prepared}
15. she has like 6 different fonts of hand writing.

After Olive Garden, we made a commercial remake of Hilshire farm's "go meat". It's pretty fantastic. I'm not sure why.... but it happened. I don't have the video. but, one day, i'll post it.

Just in case you wanted to know, we had to park 2 miles away from the hare krishna temple. insanity! SOOOO crowded this year! But really fun. :D

Also, go see the Hunger Games movie. And if you haven't read the book, do that first! They are excellent!

Because sometimes I take fun pictures

I realize I haven't given you very many pictures in my blog lately.
Well luck is on your side today because you're going to be getting some!Today, I didn't have school. So I went up to campus to take care of some study abroad stuff and buy some 120 mm film. After I grabbed Holga {my cheap medium format camera}from my locker, I put her around my neck and walked all the way across campus and thought to myself "You probably look fantastic with your sunglasses, big flower, poofy hair, camera, and camera purse!"
then when I got home, I walked by my full length mirror and decided that I look like I was a tourist, checking out USU campus....
and then I realized that it was "A-Day" where all the little seniors in high school come up to tour campus. Great. Everyone probably thought I was a weird young thang.

but I don't seem to care too much because at least I know I'll be a good lookin' tourist in Europe this summer. :P {I hope you guys know that I'm not really conceited. I just had to tell this funny story. haha}

Dropping out of college to become karaoke stars

You know those times where you think, "self, I'm a super star!" ??.

Tonight, Just happened to be that sort of night. 

Here I was, minding my own business making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, in the middle of talking to a photography client about her wedding I'm shooting when my dear friend and roommate, Allison, tells me we need to go to Karaoke night at Pizza Pie Cafe.

If that wasn't the best thing my little ears had heard all day, I don't know what was. 

So I talk Betsy into going too, {because lets be hhhonest, Betsy and I have sung karaoke together since..... probably the dawn of the dinosaurs.... or when they started selling bread in the store. either one.} we have a list {extensive} of songs that are "our songs". {not "our song" by T. Swift} We decided tonight if we were a couple getting married, we'd have to have a lot of first dances.

Valentines Day Post

So, sometimes i'm pretty domestic and do cute lil' things 

in photoshop for Valentines day.

I don't really know how to do things half way when it comes to this kind of thing. So I tend to go overboard a little bit. So don't judge me and think I'm psycho.... But, I think they're fun. Here are a few of the 20 ish I did. {I shot these right before I went to bed one night at like 1 am and the only light I had was a little over head light and was too lazy to break out my tripod, therefore they aren't tack sharp like i'd like them to be.} {and yes, i know i'm incredibly cheesy. }

p.s. Allison's car {Black Honda named bessy} and my car {black toyota Corolla named Calvin} are kinda in love. We decided they're valentines. Especially when we park right across
from each other like today.

So you can't see them very well. but in the middle
there, there's a little pot of mini roses too. and she
has a rose in her mouth. 

And....... In case any of you didn't get flowers.... My roommate Natalie got plenty to go around. And I'm sure she'll get more tonight. Allison decided that one of them should be hers so she wrote herself a little love note and put on one of the vases. haha.
