Baby Names & a traumatic fish story.

So my sister and i have a list {i know, shocker that i have another list} of names that we like for future childrens we'll have. We read them off to our familia after dinner tonight and i don't think my parents really like either of ours. it's kind of funny how many of Ashleigh's and mine are the same. i'll bold those ones for your viewing pleasure. and i'll tell you the reaction on some that i remember too.
I have a lot more girl names than guys names. is this a sign that i'll have more girls? As long as i have a boy first i'm fine with that. Why i want a boy first you may ask? Because i've always wanted a big brother. I only have one brother, he's pretty cool. He'd be a cool big brother. Em's pretty lucky to have a big brother. I want all of my daughters {it's bound to be more girls. cause boys are a very rare thing in my family.} to have a big brother.

here are the girl names. these are not in any particular order. but, i will say, my girls are most definitely getting middle names. maybe even more than one.

Grace

Lavender {really weird faces made here} i think it's cute! how adorable would it be to have twin girls and name them violet and lavender??? i think cute! then i'd paint their room purple. perrrrfect.

Vadynn- pronounced vay din. {ash has Vandi on her list. both V names}

Poppy {i don't think my parents like this either}

Alice

Jane

Paisleigh-as you have noticed the typical "ly" spelling of a name will not be used with my childrens. i think the leigh is more feminine and it's kinda after Ashleigh's name too.

Ivy

Violet

Aspen

Milleigh

Oakleigh

Saffron- mom said, "what are you trying to start a new spice girls girl?"

Leyna

Quinton said, "do you have any non-plant names?"
haha. i never noticed this! but i think they're cute names!

and here are the boy names. like i said, very limited. Boy names are hard. i think there are so many of the same name and it's hard to be unique with them because you don't want them to sound girly.

James- this one is the first born son's name of both ash's and i's {and even emilie if you can believe it} and Quinton's middle name, and Grandpa's name. To say the least, it's a fav of everyones. hence why i'm cursing ash to have all girls till i get married and have a son first. i'm calling all of Ash and Nathan's sons Bill. Because then he'd have a theme song for his name. Then he could really love science too. it's perfect.

Rider-let's be honest, this is a cowboy name. and i love cowboys. So, if i don't marry a cowboy named Rider, i'm naming a son Rider. And apparently ash is too. haha.

Ames

Ayden

Hudson- dad said, "like the body of water?"

Piercen- personally love this one. super handsome name.

Rogan- "it sounds like Rogane" {i don't know how to spell that word} but i don't think so!

obviously i'm not too too much into the whole average names. I like unique names. I grew up not having too many Brianna's in any school or class i was ever in. Ash on the other hand, had a million and 3/4. the only thing that set her first name different than any other was the spelling. Same with Emilie. I am a fan of unique/non over used names.

and my husband will have little say. :P jk, he'll obviously just love the names i choose because who doesn't love all those names?? :D

is it weird that i have a list saved on my computer that i add to titled "future baby names list" ? even so, i think it's a grand idea. What are your favorite names? Who else does this besides Ash and I??

Do any guys do this? or is it a girl thing mostly?

i have a tramatic experience to share with you.

you know my handsome fish, whisk? {cool name huh?} He's a Male Beta. Well i was changing his fishy bowl water like i always do on Sundays and when i was straining him from his old water to his new water, he decided to disobey my wishes and jump out! so then i had a scared whisk flopping all over the counter and i didn't know how to pick the poor guy up! {You could tell he was scared because of the look on his face, clearly!} but how do you pick up a semi-flat slimy thing that is squishable? okay let's be honest, i was more traumatized than he was! i was literally screaming and everyone rushed into the kitchen to see what was going on} and it took me a good 10 seconds to get him back to water. If only he'd just listen. he acted as if we've never done this before. gee whilackers.

And he was DEAD!!!!!!

okay, i only thought he was dead cause he didn't move for a long time. mom said, "you knocked the water out of him!" {get it, like knock the wind out... never mind, probably one of those "had to be there moments" that so often happen to me. then when i go to retell it i get blank looks of "how do i respond to that"}

Anyways, Whisk is alive. I'm not sure how well he's doing still though. he doesn't really move as often as he usually does.

Who knows about beta fish health? Should i take him to the fish doctor? is there even a such thing as a fish doctor? would this be a marine biologist? geez. so many questions i have today!

And here is a list of random things i did this week-

  • took a feather out of someones hair. I'm glad he asked me to because it was kinda funny lookin. But it was a really funny experience. I enjoyed it. haha
  • listed my first item{s} for sale on ebay
  • drove all the way to layton {more than an hour!!!} to eat at Popeye's to find that we could not eat at it because it's on the durn military base!!!!!!!!! Worst news of my life. if you've never tasted their chicken you have not lived. you know KFC? yeah, well that is like eating dirt compared to popeyes. i miss food from the south.
  • transported plants from orem to springville
  • got my bangs cut
  • had a cold. who gets a cold in the summer? maybe i should call them a hot. it's not very cold in the summer. who came up with that name anyway? maybe we should just stick to calling it a virus. or sick.
  • got a bruise on my left pointer finger nail from i have not a clue what.
  • over analyzed. {shocker}
  • counted my mosquito bites. i have 13. I'm so going to die of west nile. Do people East of the Nile not get this? I just don't understand how some things get their names. Like "drive way" normally people park in a drive way.
  • made emilie smell a leaf during a photo shoot i did of her.
  • got to 21 days left till moving back to Logan!
all around an excellent week.

peace out girl scouts. {and boys too. but i think more girls read this than boys.}
xoxo

that picture you've been waiting for, and s'more lists, Oh! and a poll..

I have no idea what to blog about. dumdedumdedum.

okay so because i'm really good at lists i am going to make a composite of all the things i have to do to get ready to leave for school-
  • edit Ashleigh's wedding day pictures {because i've put it off for 4 months and still am trying to figure out why...}
  • edit melody's newborn pictures
  • do a photo shoot of Quinton and Emilie
  • edit said photo shoots
  • sell my metal canister and reels for the darkroom to buy plastic ones because i am really bad at using the metal ones.
  • order film for my studio class.
  • go through boxes i left at home this past year and give most of it to DI
  • go through boxes still packed from last semester and figure out the stuff i don't need to bring so i don't have so much stuff that goes unused at school
  • get my bangs cut again. {tonight at 8:20}
  • transfer all of my pictures on my laptop to my external hard drives so that my computer has more space.
  • print new pictures to go into my new picture frames that are cool colors to decorate my apartment with. :D
  • find a rodeo and go to it and then find a cowboy there. {or at least the going part. ;) }
  • wax Calvin, my car.
  • go to the roberts craft store and buy supplies to make my journals for the next year.
  • make those journals even better than the year before. {which were really awesome!}

  • survive 27 days of counting down

firsts-
  • tried curry.
  • match made.... welllll..... it's on it's way.......
  • first summer cold. :( boo!!!
i think that's enough with my lists.

and because i love you people, i am going to post 2 funny pictures-

sorry but i couldn't help myself with this one. Kraig and I on cliff hanger. i love his face here. hahahahahahahahaha.

this is my niece, i came home to her sleeping in Emilie's bed like this. both of her hands were between her thighs and her legs hanging off the bed. note the journal i made her on the bottom left side of the picture. i made it for her for her baptism and she has written in it every night since then. like aunt like niece. i'm so proud. :D I love this little girl. She pretty much my favorite. :D

p.s. my dog snores real loud sometimes. like right now while she's laying next to me. it's real funny.
p.s. i am going to make a poll on here, you should vote in it.

it is entitled- which of my fabulous blog posts is your favoritists. {most favorite}

the first 3 are the ones that i have the most hits on-

adventures of finals week {which probably is the #1 because it's the first picture i put up of my new hair cut....and people like to look at my hair or something.?..... yeah never mind, i have no realistic idea. :P} this is about the adventures i had during finals week. haha

Ashleigh's engaged! this title is pretty self explanatory. i think a lot of people came to my blog to read about it because ashleigh was too busy making out with Nathan to make a post of her own. although, if you want to read a really funny post by ash of nathan's first proposal attempt you should read this and if you want the real one, read this.

The long awaited post- my kissing list! which i'm pretty sure got a lot of hits because it's about kissing {number one} and i think that a lot of guys secretly want to know of some good ways to kiss a girl. JOKE! i doubt that last one was one of the reasons. anyways, i'm a fan of this post.

and the next ones are my favorites....i think. the ones that don't have too many hits but are the funniest to read about. let's just say- they are under-appreciated.

being smart in college is easy. {MY PERSONAL ALL TIME FAVORITE} i'm telling you what's in it, because it'll ruin the grand surprise. okay i'll tell you. it involves public restrooms and TP. and other things.

when my thumb felt like falling off. this one is about a time that a frozen can of pop exploded and hurt the feelings of my cute lil' thumb. don't make fun of me, it's a true story! not even "based on a true story"

nude man, eating slugs, first win, and fun weekend. this one is pretty self explanatory too. only this one is real good because i won my first ever game of just dance. heh. which in itself makes this a good post. but mostly because it also has some pretty grandly hilarious stories.

yes mom, my liver is fine. this one is about some good and bad things about this week. a lot about my adventures in the photo lab. which honestly, i miss very dearly. almost as dearly as i love my liver that was fine.

so anyways, once again you should read them and then vote. over to the right! :D

infinite X's and O's.

AND my blog get's a new facelift. And Craig get's a haircut. And lauren sporting my purse stuck on her fingers.

So i designed this new banner in PS. {photoshop helllloooo}
this is how long it took- A long time x16.16 But it's cute, no?

anyways, i like it.

and in honor of the facelift, i will show you a funny video of craig cutting his hair. you can see it at this lovely site called youtube.

Also i really enjoy this one and this one.

so strange things of the past few days-

someone told me i had a nice singing voice.... i don't think i've ever been told this.
also, some random guy that came through my line today at work told me i was beautiful. And he wasn't even an old man or my dad! made me feel nice. :D

Lauren Super glued her fingers to my purse. Here's the story- we were at a fireside, that was really really good. the lady is the great great great granddaughter of Joseph Smith the prophet. Anyways, she was playing with a bead on my purse and it fell off. so then she had to locate it under my chair and when she got it back, she tried to put it back on and then i told her i had super glue in my purse. {i'm like a boy scout- always prepared} and so she gets it out, squeezes it and this is what happens- the bead doesn't stick, but 3 of lauren's fingers did! hahahaha! so now i'm laughing as quietly as i can because we're still in a supposed to be reverent environment and then she ends up having to rip her fingers off. and with it, came some of my purse. hahahah! it was so funny. she then said, "i didn't know that super glue stuck to skin!" gotta love lauren.
stuck
with my purse on her fingers

we also made this beauty

we put gum wrappers over the gum package. We're real creative and amazing.

i went bowling and got a score of 31. :D
i bowled like this-
and this

etc.

and here are some random pictures of the past few weeks that i quite enjoy.

i love this so much. once again, i didn't didn't flip the picture. sorry readers.
Q sleeping with Kandi, who turns NINE tomorrow!!

and this is a cart full of gum boxes. i put ALL of this gum away. it took around 4 hours. i quite enjoyed it actually!

i went to Lagoon again. and i was the only girl in the group. And it was very interesting. it was fun, don't get me wrong, i just never ever am the only girl. and i learned a lot about guys. Like what a blue dart is.... which i'd be fine if i didn't know what that was. And a lot of other things that i noticed. very informative day.
and then Kraig insisted on getting the pig. And i rode on a horse. cause ya know, to marry a cowboy, you have to be able to ride a horse... even if it's a plastic one. same difference.

my sister em, makes some serious writing mistakes and needed this eraser. it weighs like a pound!!

and i saw these license plates and kinda had a freak out session. so i car stalked them and took the pictures. this red car almost ran me over. i was walking in the parking lot and they were backing up. so naturally instead of running out of the way, i pulled out my camera and snapped a picture of their license plate.

and this one i made Lauren stop so i could take a picture. I'm seriously happy with my finds. Next license plate i see that's cool i'll post it for you. be on the edge of your seat. i tend to find cool ones. :D

and this is all for now. because i have bowl of this delightful stuff waiting in the freezer for me.
i highly recommend it. :D

my childhood favs

I made a list of cool things i could blog about... but i lost it!!! So i made this list of things i should blog about. and then i lost the list. I'm very sad about this because i had some good ideas that you'd probably like. So instead of writing about cool things i'm going to give you a short list of things i liked as a little kid-o.

bananas. {which i now detest}

McDonalds french Fries. i called them "fuhfies"

my blanket.... okay not only as a child. i still love my baby blanket.

My dream and passion- photography

So one thing that i do when i have spare time is blog stalk my favorite photographers. I have a list that is waaay long. I love seeing how much they've accomplished and that a lot of them started out the same way that i have/am. So recently i've been thinking about what i want to do/ where i want to go with my photography. and this is what i have come up with-

I want to own my own studio. But i won't use it everyday and i've wished that there was a studio that would rent time to photographers to use. And then one day, i happened upon this studio that does just that! And thought to myself- self, you should soooo do this! So now, when i start a studio i think i will rent it out. But i'd have to make sure the photographers knew what they were doing and how to work the equipment first..

I want to own a successful portrait business. My favorite type of people photography thus far is weddings. Love them. I would really love for most of my business to be of weddings. Since i was a little girl i have loved to go to wedding receptions and i still do. It's just as fun to be the photographer at one that it is to be a guest there. So it's perfect- wedding photography.

I want to do an internship in either, NYC, Chicago, LA, London, Paris, or somewhere in Italy with a high up fashion photographer. I am really interested in learning more about this style and am going to focus on this in my studio photography class next semester. i want to try it and see if it's something that i would like to do with photography as a career as well. I don't really want to live in the places where a fashion photographer would have to live so i've been thinking that i could maybe be a small business fashion photographer. Like for locally owned clothing companies and businesses.

Also, i'm going to be shadowing a food photographer for Harmons next month and want to see what that is like. Because a lot of times food photographers just do once a month shoots and that would be something pretty cool to learn how to do. Plus, i like to cook and would like to learn how to take better pictures of stuffs i make.

I'm going to be taking a few newborn shoots next week and am also excited about this. i just wish that i had a studio to do these in instead of just manipulating the natural window light. I Love looking at newborn photography. Babies make my heart melt and i really would love to be able to capture them in this way. I have only done two baby shoots, and they have probably been the most challenging shoots i've ever done. By far.

Photography is my passion! I love being able to stop a moment in time. A moment that will never happen again. The passage of time is continuous and unrelenting, and photography stops that moment forever inside my camera.
I fell in love with photography my sophomore year of high school and decided because I loved it so much that I would major in it.

A jumble of thoughts, emotions and more.

firsts-

first time ever making coffee. {i did NOT drink it. i had to make it at work} and it smelt real badly. bleck. but i can now add this to my list of things i can do on my resume, right? Not that it's really that cool... yeah, i will not add that actually.

first time quitting a job!! {opinionology} heh. {i have 2 weeks left}

first 7 page journal entry. I had a ton to write about in just ONE day.

First time on Cliff Hanger at Lagoon. It was extremely anti climatic. FYI {i have a funny picture that Ash took when i was on it that i had no idea she was taking. I look ticked. and my friend, Kraig, looks really frightened. haha. debating on putting it on...}

First time this summer of painting my nails with polka dots.

First DTR of the summer {and of the year}. yeah, that was real interesting...

First time i've been to Lagoon w/o going on Rattle Snake Rapids. :'(

This post from here on out is going to make little to zero sense to you. But this blog is mainly for me so.... :D

do you ever get frustrated with yourself for things you should have said but then don't? Like perfect time to say what's been on your mind, and then you either chicken out, don't know how to say it right, or the person you're talking to you says something way unexpected, or just second guess? yeah. me too. OR do you regret things you did say because they come out sounding not at all what you meant or you pretty much say what you meant, just in a round about way? and then you just have to close your mouth cause trying to explain yourself makes you look even dumber. cause that seems to happen to me. AND also you say what you really want to say and then it makes things awkward or weird and such. Story of my life. And then you kick yourself in the britches. It's fine. Don't even worry. scratch that. This is NOT fine.

And then you feel a bit of disappointment and frustration and what if's and such. But there really isn't anything you can do to change what happened. So why worry about it? Why? I really wish that i could not, not worry. Stressing is my middle name. you know, that and Nichole and sexy beast...

I just wish i was a braver person sometimes. I feel like i know better now more than ever who i am and what i believe. I think that i am the same person no matter what the situation is and don't change how i act or what i do. Still though, it's frustrating when i still can't do everything and be everything i want to be. It's a never ending process that i will always be working on.

Anyways, i have less than 2 months of summer. This makes me extremely happy. But sad too. I feel like i've just barely begun to make friends here again and everyone keeps reminding me that "i'm leaving them in the fall". Which is a really really frustrating stanza when put into certain conversations... with family, friends, and coworkers.

i really don't know what else to write. more like how to write what else i am feeling. I feel like my mood and attitude is matching the gloomy weather right now. I really am in need of some of my Logan Friends. Thank goodness they are coming tomorrow! it could not have been more perfect of timing! Although i wish a few more people who couldn't get work off could have come too. Also, i do not have to work tomorrow at all. Grateful for days that i get off. I'd so much rather go to college and do homework and art work than work. I guess that's why i am going to school. So i can get a job that i love. :]

well this is all. and in honor of my not so wonderful mood, i will put my name in dull colors. :P

work adventures, bug bites, raining mud, and a baby cradle??

with a title like that one i better get to work on making this a good post. it's my 181st post. big deal right?

okay so at work i was ridiculously bored cause i was put on "west express" aka- outer darkness. Which i hate. because it is so boring. so.... i decided to make myself un-bored.

so i created the longest paper clip chain i could. i used all of them in the black basket thing-a-ma-bob and then i took this here picture.

i'm pretty sure i was not supposed to do this. why? cause even i'll admit it is fetchin' annoying when you go to grab a paper clip and they are hooked to each other. yeah. well sorry, when i have nothing to do except twiddle my thumbs {which i'd already done so long that they were twiddled out} or "face" the pop cooler which i faithfully did every time someone touched one the only thing left to do is create a paper clip chain. AND....

decorate the pen..... Because there had been 3 pens stolen that day already and i didn't have a sticky pen holder thing to keep the pen from being hoisted again.

So i put these flashy little stickers on it that said, "paid in deli" on them so the pen was a- so hideous that no one would even want to steal it and b-would not look like any pen they'd ever had so they wouldn't think it was theirs. but mostly just "A".

anways, i got a new name tag at work. It say's "4th year of serving you." Which if you think about it, it's more of "4th year of working for you" because i'm not there for free. I get paid. So i don't really get it. But whatevs. plus, it says on the little paper to a "valued" associate. Who knew i was valued. they must really like me or something. i doubt everyone gets a music note paper....

P.S. did you guys see that randy is growing a beard????
{he's obviously on the left}
it makes him look like a mountain man/whole lot older/weird. Bob and Randy were in the store when i was making my paper clip chain and they both said hi to me. i said, "sup" okay i really just smiled and said hi back. But i nearly asked them why there was no apostrophe in the name "Harmons" it makes no sense. there last name is Harmon. and it's THEIR grocery store, so why is there no apostrophe to show possession? It really irritates me. I feel like i'm going against everything i was taught by my English teachers working for them. But hey, i get paid so this is why i don't say what's on my mind.
OH! and i think my boss got fired. But i'm still unsure of the story. I didn't really know her so i am not happy nor sad. But i think the general consensus on the "Front End" is joy.

i designed my new debit card. it's legit and going to look like this-

and don't write that number down cause it's a fake one. But don't trust me, you are more than welcome to test it out. :D

I have 3 Mosquito bites. they bite. hehe. i think i got 3 total all of last summer. Hopefully this means i am done now. There'd better not be mosquitos in heaven.

And it rained mud. And Calvin, my black car, Shows mud very well. He's talented like that.
and here are a few random pictures from my cell phone i took this summer-

look how dry we are!
look how wet they are! haha.
this sign says something to do with don't put your bums in the garden unless your a bumble bee. so they put their bums in the "garden" of rocks. :D
And there is now a cradle in my living room..... Ash and Nathan? Can we please talk? Or, mom? is there a surprise???
quinton fell asleep in more weird positions. this couch is only like 10 feet from his bedroom. why he doesn't go there?? i do not know.

grandma sent me a box of my grade school art work. i think this is constellations. i think i liked the letter "n" better than "b". it was done purposefully for a dramatic effect.

Caitlin and i take cool pictures. we're babes.

and then i went to N.Y.C. you didn't know NY had mountains like this did you??

psych! this was at the Lehi Trafalga. :D

p.s.s.s.s.s. etc. sorry for the side ways pictures. i was too lazy to switch them around because i have to go to bed to wake up at the bum crack of dawn to go watch the Hot air balloon lift off. Which is highly romantic {and also UPS men are too... romantic that is. and cowboys too.} in case you haven't read, "the time of aspen falls" if only i had a boyfriend to go with..... oh, wait.......

gotcha again! :P

i cannot wait for Lagoon on Tuesday.

nighty night.
do your self and your mothers a favor and don't end up at the hospital for burns from fireworks. Oh, and Pray for our heroic soldiers for the 4th of july especially. What studly stud muffins they are.
